Austin Package Bombs

Austin, Texas is a city on edge after three package bombings, just ten days apart, have left two dead and two others seriously injured.

The first deadly explosion happened March 2nd, followed by two blasts just hours apart Monday.

Police do believe these cases are connected, raising the fears of a possible serial bomber.

The “average-sized delivery boxes” were placed in front of each home and were not delivered by the U.S. Postal Service, according to the Austin police chief.

Right now, a motive is still illusive and police not ruling out the possibility of a hate crime.  The victims are African-American and Hispanic.

Anxious Austin residents are being told to not open any suspicious packages.

Austin is currently hosting the popular South by Southwest festival.  Organizers tweeting, “SXSW is heartbroken by the explosions in Austin.”
