Bankrupt Toys ‘R’ Us Might Close 100 Stores

Facing weak holiday sales, the toy-store chain is considering closing 100 store locations to balance the low revenue numbers.

U.S. sales have declined over 15 percent this Christmas-shopping season compared to last year’s season.

With a third-quarter loss of $623 million, CEO Dave Brandon said “our results were disappointing, they reflect the broad competitive trends across retail.”

A spokesperson for the company said, “decisions about our real estate portfolio will be made only after careful consideration about the best interests of our business.”
