Dirtiest City in the Country

In a survey of the dirtiest cities in the country, conducted by the cleaning service BusyBee, New York City came out on top.

The survey scored cities based on population density, litter, pests, and air pollution levels.

In recent years the Department of Sanitation has added more trucks, street sweepers and expanded the recycling program.

Despite ranking first, efforts by the city have paid off with 95% of streets meeting or exceeding their standards of cleanliness.

With over 8.5 million people it’s no surprise there is a lot of trash, but locals believe there is a difference between waste and filth.
