Even More Retail Closures in 2018

In 2017 a record-high rate of store closures swept across the retail industry.

According to a Business Insider analysis, more than 3,600 are in sight for the next year.

Retailers including Walgreens, Payless, Toys R Us, and Gap are among many who expect to shutter hundreds of stores in 2018.

Some closures will take effect immediately, such as Sears and Kmart, while many others might take months or years to complete.
