Toys “R” US Final Days

Toys “R” Us may close the doors to all of its U.S. locations as early as this week.

The original toy megastore filed for bankruptcy protection last September.

Toys “R” Us is just one of several prominent retail giants dialing back business in the what’s dubbed the “Age of Amazon.”

Since last year, nearly two dozen brick-and-mortar stores, including J. Crew, Gymboree and Abercrombie and Fitch, said they would close-up shop due to sagging sales.

In recent years, consumers have been drawn to Amazon, Wal-Mart and Target for games and gadgets.

Other big names are waiting across the aisle with hopes of luring in customers, including JC Penney and Kohl’s which are expanding their toy departments.

Toys “R” Us relaying this twitter message, “we’ve seen an amazing outpouring of love and support in recent days and we truly appreciate it.”
