U.S. Vehicle Deaths Remain Near 10-Year High

The National Safety Council announced that traffic-related fatalities hit 40,100 in 2017, the second year in a row above 40,000.

Distracted driving, alcohol, not wearing seatbelts, and high speeds are often the leading causes in fatal crashes.

More than 20% of the 17.5 million cars made in 2017 were equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.

However, the data shows that safer cars do not necessarily result in safer roads.

The U.S. is falling behind when compared to other countries that have been cutting road-fatalities at a faster rate.
