Walmart Opens 500 FedEx Locations

Walmart is adding 500 FedEx Office locations inside stores across the U.S. over the next two years.

The announcement follows a pilot program in which the companies tested FedEx stores at 46 Walmart locations.

Shoppers can pack, ship, print and have their packages held at the FedEx Office locations for up to five business days.

Walmart is trying to become a one-stop practical solution for shoppers, battling the increasing convenience of shopping online.

The announcement came during a series of partnerships Walmart recently unveiled, as it expands its online and delivery services.

Doubling down with FedEx will give Walmart an edge against Amazon and other e-commerce sites that lack physical stores.

To further its online battle, Walmart acquired the startup Parcel and has partnered with ride-sharing services for speedier same-day delivery.
