Starbucks Tests No-Cash Policy


At a location in downtown Seattle, Starbucks is testing how customers react to the refusal of cash.

“It is the only location doing the experiment,” a Starbucks spokeswoman said, “the test will help us understand how cashless forms of payment may impact our customer experience.”

Getting rid of cash means they do not need to have change in the registers, they have faster transactions and it keeps dirty money away from food and drinks.

Starbucks says its mobile app has been a massive fast-growing success and blames it for overcrowding at certain locations.
